Objectives and context

TERO has carried out the formulation of the Levekafé program run by the Agence Française de Développement (AFD). The objective of Levekafe is to revive the coffee sector in a prioritized coffee production area of Haiti (Thiotte area), and to provide support to public and private Haitian institutions involved in the development of the coffee sector. The project will put a particular focus on supporting smallholder producers, agroforestry and coffee production, and it will particularly include a financial service component for new coffee plantations, articulated between local microfinance institutions, banks and the SYFAAH program.
