Objectives and context

The French NGO ESSOR hired TERO’s to evaluate its project “Development of urban and peri-urban agriculture” (DAUPU 2) in Maputo, Mozambique, implemented during the period 2013-2016. The main objective of the project is to develop the urban and peri-urban agriculture in Maputo, with three results expected: (1) The public and private actors of urban and peri-urban agriculture enhance their capacities and work together answering effectively the producers’ needs; (2) The producers increase and diversify their production developing agroecological practices; (3) An agroecological food-chain of fresh and healthy vegetables is created, certified and supply specific markets.
