Objectives and context

As part of the resumption of its activities in Angola, AFD initiated, in partnership with the World Bank, a process of project appraisal to support the development of commercial agriculture in 3 provinces of the country. The aim is to increase production and productivity, as well as to facilitate access to market for agricultural micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). To continue the appraisal of the irrigation aspect of this project, AFD requested TERO to carry out a pre-feasibility study focused on irrigation issues.

Services provided

Conduct a comprehensive review of the National Irrigation Plan

Support AFD during its appraisal mission, particularly on aspects related to irrigation, water resources management, and institutional capacities

Contribute to the drafting of the checklist for the identification of the project, for the technical and institutional elements
